The International Designer Canine Association recognized and began recording registration for the Alaskan Shepherd in 2009.

Hybrid Origin:  The Alaskan Shepherd is a hybrid between the Alaskan Malamute and the German Shepard Dog.

Country of Origin:  Alaskan Shepherds originate in the United States of America.

Original Purpose:  The Alaskan Shepherd is a great family companion and working dog.

Breed Characteristics:  Alaskan Shepherds tend to be very active and eager to please.

Generally Alaskan Shepherds are alert, very intelligent, loyal and friendly towards children and other animals.

Alaskan Shepherds are easy to train with positive reinforcement.  

Life Expectancy:  Average life expectance for the Alaskan Shepherd is 10 - 13 years.
